Cambridge Primary

Cambridge Primary utilizes an international curriculum that affords the opportunity for enrichment as well as experiences that create global minded citizens.

How can I attend a Cambridge Primary School?

All students who live in the attendance boundary for a Cambridge Primary School participate in the Cambridge Primary program. Students from outside of these schools’ zones who would like to access these schools will use the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Pathways School Choice Application process. All out of zone students who apply are to be sent for the lottery, even if this number exceeds the total number of available seats. Preferences established in the Controlled Open Enrollment Plan will be followed when the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of seats open. Students residing in district will be given preference, followed by students outside the district. Applicants are randomized and seats are filled by the number of open opportunities designated during the seat setting process. Students not placed during the lottery process will be placed on a randomized waitlist.

Cambridge Lower Secondary

The Cambridge Lower Secondary program utilizes an international curriculum that affords the opportunity for acceleration and enrichment. Cambridge gives schools a flexible framework for developing skills and understanding in English, mathematics, science, and Cambridge Global Perspectives. These skills prepare students for the college level coursework they will be exposed to as they progress to high school.

AICE Diploma Programme

The AICE program of study offers students one of the most enriching and rigorous college preparatory programs in the world. After completing at least one course in each of the three academic areas, and the required Global Perspectives course, students have the flexibility to choose a course of study that best meets their abilities and interests. Students also have the option of taking AICE courses and their subsequent exams to earn college credits without applying for the AICE diploma.

American universities have responded enthusiastically to AICE. The Florida Legislature has identified AICE as a graduation option and acceleration mechanism through which students can be awarded up to 45 hours of college credit at all public universities and colleges in Florida. Students earning the AICE Diploma qualify for the Florida Academic Scholars, Bright Futures Scholarship (with the completion of the required number of community service or paid work hours) and are waived from the minimum GPA and SAT/ACT requirements.

How can I become part of the Lower Secondary or AICE Diploma Programme?

All students interested must apply to be a part of the Lower Secondary or AICE Diploma Programme utilizing the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Pathways School Choice Application. Student applications will be reviewed to ensure the application meets eligibility criteria including: advanced or accelerated course completion as applicable to the grade level applying, above average grades in courses completed, and proficiency on the ELA and Math district and/or state assessments. Specific criteria will be outlined in the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Pathways School Choice application for the program.

Transportation

Attendance at a magnet school is a choice option, and as such, transportation is not guaranteed.

Students attending their zoned school and who live two miles or more from the school will be provided transportation with a neighborhood stop. Elementary students attending their zone school who live less than two miles from the school and have hazardous walking conditions as defined in Florida Statute 1006.23 will also be provided transportation with a neighborhood stop.

Students attending a school outside of their zoned school may be provided transportation from a hub stop. However, there is no guarantee that a hub stop will be provided, and parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from the designated hub stop or directly to the school.

Hub stops will generally be located at district school sites or county-owned properties. The location and number of hub stops available will be determined by the district. Planned hub stops will be listed by each school and no additional locations besides those listed will be available. If hub stops are not listed by a school, this indicates that either there will not be hub stops or that hub stops, if any, will be finalized after the second school choice window acceptances are received and interest in hub transportation can be determined.

Hub stop locations are subject to change at any time. If a hub stop location must be relocated, the new location would be in the same general area. Additionally, should a hub stop location not have sufficient interest or ridership, it may not be implemented or continued.
